I sit here in anticipation, or maybe I am expectant of good news, favor, and answered prayers being revealed. A few days ago, I released something to you. Full surrender, hands open and empty. I meant it when I said I wanted to release this thing to you, and I asked you to bless what I’ve already done because I felt like I was striving and I just needed to pause.
A few days went by, and you surely had done it! You blessed what I had already done; you showed me in that moment that, one, you heard me and love me enough to honor my surrender. Two, you are willing and able to use anything on this earth and work it for the favor of those who love you. Three, and most important, you are good at being God; not just because you answered my prayer, but because you’ve always been working things together for my good.
How could I forget who you are? You’ve shown me and continue to show me that you are in control. I guess when I go through more challenging seasons, I lose sight of who you are because my circumstances overwhelm my mind.
This last week was a beautiful reminder that you are in control of all things. Lord, let me not get in your way and try to control things that I was meant to enjoy. Let me not be consumed by anything, even if it is a good thing, and keep my heart in the right place. You don’t give me desires to be consumed by them but to experience walking with you through the journey.
Lord, I pray for anyone reading this right now. I pray that whatever that “thing” is in their life that feels consuming is released to you. I pray that they have the courage to trust that you are in control of all things that they hold dear to their heart and that you are truly working all things together for the good of those who love you. May this be their reminder today that they can rest in the promises you’ve given them and be expectant, just because of who you are. In Jesus name, Amen.
